2017 Range Rover Evoque vs. 2017 Lincoln MKX

The 2017 Range Rover Evoque and the 2017 Lincoln MKX both provide luxury and utility for Schaumburg area drivers. Either one could make a good choice, but if you're looking for the best of the best then you need to read on to see how they compare.

Powertrain and Performance

The Lincoln MKX gets a 3.7L V6 engine. This power plant generates 303 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. It gets front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission standard. It earns up to 17 mpg city/26 mpg highway in that configuration, and less with all-wheel drive.

That's a significantly different powertrain than the 2017 Evoque, which gets a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that cranks out 240 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. While that's less than the Lincoln, the Range Rover gets far better fuel economy, with 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway. It's worth noting that the Evoque also gets all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission standard. It also gets the Terrain Response system that lets you dial in the traction settings to take on any conditions. Nothing like that is available in the MKX.

Convenience and Technology

While both premium crossover utility vehicles might come well equipped, you'll simply discover that the Range Rover Evoque delivers a real premium experience. The Evoque gets standard leather upholstery, while the Lincoln comes with vinyl. Both get 8-way power adjustable heated front seats; and the Land Rover can have heated rear seats, which is not offered in the MKX. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque gets a navigation system with voice activation, while the Lincoln MKX doesn't. The Land Rover also gets an automatic equalizer that isn't offered in the MKX.
