A reacquired vehicle is simply one that Land Rover previously purchased back from its original owner. This can happen for a variety of reasons, such as multiple repair attempts or the vehicle being out of service for a certain amount of time. We see many of these vehicles come from states like California, where strong consumer-protection and buyback laws can result in a manufacturer reacquiring a vehicle even when the underlying concern is relatively minor.
Most importantly, Land Rover addresses or repairs the concerns related to the reacquisition before the vehicle is offered for resale. The vehicle also undergoes a comprehensive 165-point Land Rover inspection. In addition, the vehicle comes with either the remainder of the original Land Rover factory warranty or a 1-year/12,000-mile Land Rover factory warranty, depending on its existing coverage. Everything is fully disclosed, including why the vehicle was reacquired and what was done to address the concern. Because of the reacquired history, these vehicles can often be purchased at a substantial savings compared with a similar Land Rover, making them an excellent value.
